06 May 10 Do As I Say - Not As I Do

By: Ang Biondo

It seems Mr. Obama is not happy these days as the “Tea Party Movement” continues to gain momentum as November draws closer. He has called for all people to use civility when speaking of those who do not agree with their ideology. Yet, he continues to use the slang “Tea-baggers” when referring to those affiliated or in agreement with the “’Tea Party Movement”. A slang tern referring to a sexual act. (See WEB definition for “Tea-bagger” )

It is apparent that the ‘political left’ is thin skinned and does not like off colored remarks when coming from the mouth of the ‘political right’. If the ‘political right’ had called one of their’s who’s extramarital activities was brought to the attention of the world a ‘Teabagger’ you can be rest assured all hell would have broke loose. To them it didn’t matter that members of their leadership embarrassed America in the face of the world.

Mr. Obama is also making it apparent that he is the President of those who agree with him and those who do not are an enemy of the state. The ‘my way’ or else attitude of this administration and the ‘political left’ controlled Congress, does not set well with a vast majority of the good people of this great Nation, and the many polls taken daily make that quite clear. Yet they choose to ignore the polls and continue to spend irresponsibly, force new laws and taxes down the throats of the hard working (those of us who have jobs) tax payers reaching deeper and deeper into their pockets.

This year, the one single most important thing the citizenship can and must do is exercise their right to vote. It is appalling that of all those who are of age and eligible to vote, approximately 50 percent exercise their right to do so. Come November we must not forget the irresponsible acts of those responsible for extending the miseries of this economic disaster on all of us. We must get out and vote. If your representative runs on the pretense of voting against the highly unpopular Healthcare Reform Bill, you need to check if he/she voted against it the first time around. That was the important vote that allowed it to be passed the second simple 51 vote majority vote the second time around. Once the Senate had the 51 vote count, those representatives who represented districts where the bill was highly unpopular – had the blessings of the Pelosi, Reed team to vote against it for appearance purposes. The voters need to remember that the initial vote in December was unanimous with all 60 democrats and the 2 Independents voting for the costly and life controlling Healthcare Reform Bill.

The next bill the Obama and the Democratic/Liberal controlled Congress wants to pass is the ‘Cap and Trade’ Act’, also known as ‘The Cap and Tax’ and ‘The American Clean Energy Security Act of 2009’. The average annual cost per household varies drastically and you will have to decide whose calculations you trust. The ‘Congressional Budget Office’, (CBO) places the cost per household at somewhere between $175 to $1,380, but does not take consider some facts that may be pertinent to an accurate calculation, such as job losses due to a raise in energy costs, etc. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT) on the other hand places the cost at around $3100 per household. I for one would trust the MIT numbers before the CBO figures, based on the way the CBO botched the numbers on the cost of the Healthcare Reform Bill. See the CBO report at: CBO Report (pdf) , or the HTML version at: CBO Report on Cap and Trade , or the MIT report published by ‘The Weekly Standard” at - “The Weekly Standard.com”

The following ‘YouTube’ Video’s will give those who question the cost of this bill to the American households and just how far it will reach into the pockets of the American Tax payer. Even if it were a good bill, it is a bad time for our economy and the millions of jobless struggling to place food on their tables. Most of us don’t have the luxury to fly Air Force 1 to New York City on a Wednesday night for a date night on the tax payer’s dime, let alone come up with an additional $3100.00 dollars a year in energy costs.
